There are so many great places to visit.
Below is a list of educational places and some popular day trip destinations that are worth visiting locally. Some do not have a website so you will have to phone for further details. Put in what type of attraction you're looking for and in which part of the country and it comes up with a whole list of places. By paying an annual subscription you can receive vouchers to get your family in cheaper

The Museum of Harlow Fabulous museum giving the history of Harlow.

The Forge Museum & Victorian Cottage Garden Set in the picturesque village of Much Hadham, the museum's displays tell stories about how the crafts of blacksmithing and farriery have developed over the years, as well as smaller exhibits about local village life. The museum is set in Grade II listed buildings and the garden houses a rare early nineteenth century Bee shelter. The resident blacksmith can be seen at work six days a week.

Hatfield Forest A natural trust site of Special Scientific Interest in Takeley near Bishop's Stortford.

Hertford Museum A local history museum in an early 17th century town house, enhanced by a charming recreated 'Jacobean' knot garden of intertwined hedges of box and lavender. There is a changing programme of temporary exhibitions and museum offers visitors the chance to find out about the history of the county town of Hertfordshire.

Rye Meads RSPB Nature Reserve On the outskirts of Stanstead Abbotts this is a great place to get close to local nature all year round

Rhodes Arts Complex & Bishop's Stortford Museum A contempory centre for the arts with many family activities going on to join in with. Check with the centre for a list of current activities and workshops for children.

Duxford Imperial War Museum Duxford is Europe's premier aviation museum - as well as having one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits in the country. It can be found on the outskirts of Cambridge.

Hatfield House Welcome to the Hertfordshire home of the 7th Marquess of Salisbury. Hatfield House, built between 1607 and 1611 by Robert Cecil. Fantastic woodlands and gardens as well as the house to explore.

Butterfly World A very new local attraction near St. Albans. It aims to become the biggest walk through attraction in the world. With a 100m Biome, home to over 10.000 tropical butterflies.

Celtic Harmony Camp Go and visit a Celtic village in woodland just outside of Hertford.

The Gibberd Garden Near Old Harlow a wonderful garden perfect for a couple of hours of wandering around.

Marsh Farm Is a working farm in South Woodham Ferrers where children can get close to farm animals and play safely in our adventure play areas. There is also a Country Park, which boasts excellent coastal walks and superb views of the River Crouch.

Harlow Town Park and Pets Corner Situated in the centre of Harlow is a new children's adventure play areas as well as a small working farm and cafeteria.

Parndon Wood nature Reserve A lovely small nature reserve just on the outskirts of Harlow. Perfect for a half day trip out.

Ware Museum See a timeline of Ware history from pre-historic times to the Second World War. Experience the Blitz and find out what it was like for WWII refugees. See Roman Ware artefacts and visit the remains of a mediaeval well discovered when building a new extension to the museum.

Old MacDonald's Farm For a great day out and the opportunity to learn about farm animals and see how they live you can't do much better than this. Just off of Junction 28 of the M25

The Science Museum The Science Museum in London is a great place to visit for all year groups. Has a great children’s exhibit.
